Today was one of those good days where I got a ton of stuff done and am
feeling pretty good about it all.
Yup.
Feeling good about it all.
You know what?
I'm feeling good.

Magical evening with my fellow method writers. Honored to be in their company.
Their suggestions from last week were so spot on resulting in not only a renewed enthusiasm for myself but a poem which makes me proud. Everyone tonight seemed to like what they wrote. There are always a few exceptions, but by and large we were proud of our work. What a wonderful feeling.

I think I'm finally feeling better. This has just been ugly.

This is the face of sick.
It's been ugly.
Please let it be over.

I went to class tonight with what I thought was a giant turd of a poem. Sharon Olds and I spent as much time together this week as we have over the last month,
but instead of inspiration there was nothing.
So I took my six terrible lines and stood up in front of everyone and read my dreck.
That's when the best thing happened.
Jack and my classmates took my horrid six lines and
saw the heart of this piece. Rather than criticize,
I was given ideas for how to make it really rather brilliant.
I'll be rewriting it this week and shaping it into
something more than I could have imagined.
This is why I cannot imagine my life without Method Writing.

It was a good day.
A good day at work.
Until the end of the day.
Then I stayed an hour and a half late with the owner trying to get him to explain why, if he thinks we're all so wonderful and doing such a great job (he could give me no example of poor performance), does he gets so paranoid (his word, not mine) when we oh, I don't know, laugh. Or a few folks go on breaks together, you know, because we like each other. Or even my offense which was to ask my co-worker to Google a poem for me before I left because I'd already shut down my computer.
Now I'm exhausted.
He doesn't handle change well and we are on the first clickity clackety uphill climb of this roller coaster. Make sure seat belts are securely fastened and keep hands and arms inside the car at all times. It's going to be a bumpy ride.
