Live. Chat. Tweet. What?

I joined the tweet chat last night for #hff14. I've never live tweeted anything. What did I learn? These folks are endlessly welcoming! And I’m r e a l l y  s l o w.

I tried to keep up with the questions and conversations but in the end I was just reading. I favorited a few things. Replied to a couple. Started following a bunch of people. Picked up a few followers myself. Woo Hoo! That makes 41!

The hour FLEW by. All of a sudden it was 8:00 and people were signing off just when I had almost maybe started to get the hang of things. Nah, who am I kidding. I was nowhere near getting the hang of it. I’ll get to try again in a couple of weeks!

There's workshop tonight hosted by Elephant Stages in the Lillian Theater so I'll get to meet people face to face.

Am overwhelmed and completely motivated! My project feels a little like a kindergarten papier-mache job with newspaper strips and gloppy flour paste being slathered over balloons compared to some of these other projects that seem so slick and glossy.

I still have no idea how I'm going to pull this off.

But I will.

The Long and Short of It

Sum up my play in 300 characters? This has been painful. I like words! Sometimes I like lots and lots and lots of words. Damn social media. I blame social media and mobile devices. Oh, wait. I love my iPhone. Never mind. I've adapted.

I've added my project to HFF14, both short and long descriptions. Now I'm under review while they verify I conform to their terms of service. Why do I bristle at the word "conform"?

So now I wait for the powers that be decide if my project is worthy, if I'm worthy. Wonder how long this will take?

Wait, my email just chimed. My project is active! Woo hoo!

Next up, I need a venue.

Done a Crazy Thing

I've done a crazy thing and decided to produce my play, That's Why I Hold On, for the
Hollywood Fringe Festival this year.

Am I ready for this? Not exactly, but I'll get there.
